January to March 2016
Taro cultivation – Brother Tanmaya
Taro cultivation in the back area of Uma Master Unit was only for experiement last year 2015.
4 pieces of land were cultivated in 4 different ways in terms of timing, fertilizing and planting. They were those areas of 0.4ha, 0.3ha, 0.6ha and 0.7ha.
The experiement would end in May 2016 when area 4 (0.7ha) got harvested. Taro was planted by end Dec. 2015, the plants could be seen now in the Master Unit. We were at the moment harvesting gradually the taro in the 3 previous pieces of land.
We planted about 110 moringa trees in March and made a constant irrigation system. Sister Shaunkarii invented a formula for preparing delicious moringa tea. Therefore, if this product were supported by margiis and yoga students, we could find the output for moringa. We planned to plant more moringa, wormwood and fruit trees (in the remaining 18 holes) from this moment to Baba’s birthday in May. The students attending the vegetarian camp highly appreciated the neem leaves that could be used for daily detoxification. Neem leaves could bring income to our project as well as moringa. We also had warehouses constructed next to the main house.
